In a Word...Experience

An Orthodontist has completed an additional 2-3 year full time residency program after the regular 4 years of dental school. Two to three years are spent in an intensive residency program studying orthodontics in the classroom and in the clinic. An Orthodontist works only with the movement of teeth and has a special knowledge and skill to move them effectively and efficiently. A general dentist can do Orthodontics but does not have the extensive training and expertise, particularly when treatment is complex or does not proceed as planned. Want to learn more?
